The Weekly Dig #1

Well lads, welcome to the first Weekly Dig. Here's what I've been digging this week.

Free pack: Solid Sounds is a free Ableton pack made with Loopmasters, full of loops and presets tagged house and techno.
Get it on the site

Free plugin: Robert Henke wrote Ableton's original Filter Delay back in 2001, and this year he rebuilt it as Filter Delays, a free Max for Live device with three filtered delays locked to the grid. Try it on hats and vocal chops.

Worth watching: Crate Audio builds a tech house groove starting from the percussion.

Quick tip: Only got a full drum loop and no separate kick? Put Compressor on your bass, pick the drum track as the sidechain source, then turn on the sidechain EQ with a low-pass so it mostly reacts to the kick.
Ableton's manual on it

…plus what's new on the site and where to hear it this week.

That's the dig. Hit reply and tell me what you're working on.
